As we reported earlier this year, The Brady Bunch house was up for sale. This house served as the Brady’s home in exterior shots on the show. Well, the house sold and it turns out that the new owner of the Brady house is HGTV.
HGTV plans to renovate the house and restore it to its full 1970’s glory. They’re documenting the process in a series titled A Very Brady Renovation, which is set to air in September of 2019.
The network brought together all six of the Brady siblings in an event to announce the Brady Bunch house renovation. Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) joined HGTV talent from several of their shows to do a walkthrough of the house.
More celebrities are set to drop-in on the series as renovations take place. There’s no word on who they will be yet, but we’ll report it when we hear.
The interior of the house does not exactly match the interior as shown on the show. Because of this, the designers plan to incorporate the show’s set designs into the existing footprint. The renovators will also add an additional 2,000 feet to the home’s original footprint. These changes won’t affect the home’s iconic look as seen from the street.
The Brady Bunch house renovation series will include interviews with the cast and special behind-the-scenes moments of this momentous renovation. Fans of the show will enjoy a trip down memory lane and relive their childhood as one of the most recognizable tv homes is restored to its former glory.
