Hello, Colombo fans! Does anybody remember the episode in which Colombo, with the opportunity to dine at Chasen's in Hollywood / Beverly Hills, is so bewildered by the selection and shocked by the prices, that he gives up and says something like, "I don't know, just give me a bowl of Chili (for which the restaurant is known worldwide)? Great example of an inside joke.
