The Jeffersons

When George Jefferson’s dry cleaning business takes off and becomes a chain of stores, he moves his family to the east side of Manhattan, to a “deluxe apartment in the sky”. The show follows the lives of George, his wife Louise, their son Lionel, Lionel’s fiancée Jenny, Jenny’s parents, the Jefferson’s wisecracking maid Florence, and the other residents of their apartment building.

Mike Evans originally played Lionel Jefferson in both “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons”. He left to write and produce on “Good Times”, but came back to the role when “Good Times” ended.
